I discovered Systematic Kinesiology 16 years ago after I was first diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. I became a Kinesiology client and when it had helped me so much I then decided to do the KinesiologyZone™ Course “Balanced Health” really with a view to understanding my own health better.
I feel Kinesiology saved my life and my intestines more so, as I know if it weren’t for Systematic Kinesiology I’d would likely have had several operations by now, like so many do with Crohn’s Disease.
My first big aha moment was after the first weekend of Balanced Health. I absolutely loved learning how to muscle test, it felt like this is what I’ve been waiting for. Feeling that connection between myself and the client, and seeing the changes that were possible. I knew I wanted to be a healer in some form, hands on, practical, not airy fairy and something that both of us could see the changes. They were so involved in the practice. Hands on was what it’s all about. It was then I knew I wanted it to be a career.
The next moment for me was with a friend.
She was doing her doctors training in Hungary and was having serious problems concentrating and focussing on her studies. Getting anxious, and panicking, because she really wanted to do well in her first year. I did some testing, and balanced what I found and made some nutritional suggestion. And she felt fantastic. I didn’t know much at the time, but I was so pleased to be able to help her. Simple as that! She completed her training and is a doctor working with neo natal babies.
My journey has been amazing. I knew I wanted to settle into a job and be my own boss.
And now that I’m a practitioner for over 5 years, I’m delighted to be working two evenings a week and Saturdays. I’ve also had two kids in the meantime, took a break to enjoy two maternity leaves, and now I’m back busy again with clients; and I have as many clients as I want and can fit in. Having my own clinic (from home and a holistic centre in Blanchardstown) I love being able to pick and choose my own hours.
The type of clients I see are a wide range, from digestive of course, and since having kids I’m seeing more children now too.
I love working with kids, especially those who are struggling with eczema and asthma type symptoms, who have been on reams of antibiotics. Healing them from the inside out and improving their diet goes a long way. As a breastfeeding advocate, I love helping new mums and their new-born babies. Emotions play a big part in life, and I have continued to seek out more training to enhance my work with clients around deep seated emotional work.
With my kids getting a bit older, and when they are going to be at school, my plan is I’ll have more time for my practice. I see myself eventually working 2-3 full days a week, perhaps doing a bit more training, which will be an amazing addition to my Kinesiology Clinic.
These days people are a lot more open to taking more responsibility for their own health, insurance providers are embracing holistic health care, which is a move in the right direction. If you haven’t been a Kinesiology client I highly recommend it. See the changes in your own life and when you do you’ll be inspired.
